Well, 2007 is drawing to a close, and I for one cannot believe how quickly this year has flown
past and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy
New Year.
We have seen VoIP continue to grow steadily and it is now a key requisite for all new phone systems, with our
customers confident in its reliability for business situations. Presence and availability systems are also growing
in people's requirements, especially with home workers becoming more common place. These systems integrate
with Microsoft applications, providing a user environment which is automatically familiar. They allow staff to see
other user's status, i.e. if they are at their desk, on the phone, or in meetings, it also allows secure instant
messaging, sharing of documents, collaboration and even web camera chats. These tools are invaluable as the
work force is becoming more dispersed.
One of the greatest growing areas of our business is remote workers. At Telinet we practice what we preach, with
a quarter of our employees having home working functionality. This provides them with a greater level of worklife
balance, and for each employee who works from home one day a week it prevents 834lbs of CO2 from
entering the air. This ties into Telinet transitioning to being a green company, we started electronically billing our
customers mid 2007, reducing the amount of paper we generate within the business. We sell the greenest phone
system available — the Mitel 3300. It has the lowest power requirements out of all of the systems. For more
information about the green credentials of this system see later in the newsletter.
With a recycling policy in house for our day to day waste, we also work closely with manufacturers to make sure
all old technology is disposed off in an eco friendly and WEEE compliant manner. In addition with many of our
customers we work with their existing equipment to maximise the lifespan of
systems and reduce the quantity of new equipment required.

As part of our green drive we are no longer printing and posting out newsletters to
our customers, they are available online and we will email them out to you as well.
We are continually looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint even more and
will be making further developments on this in 2008.
