Broadband OverviewThe Government's aim is to ensure the UK has "the most
extensive and competitive Broadband market among the G7 nations
by 2005" and sees Broadband as the key to successfully
building the new digital e-economy. · 'Always On' Internet connection, not additional
call charges There are two principle ways to deliver Broadband: ADSLADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line. It moves data more quickly from exchange to customer than from customer to exchange. So it is particularly suitable for applications where customers expect to receive more data than they transmit. ADSL operates over a normal telephone line and the signal is carried by two ADSL modems - one in the end user's premises and one in the local exchange. SDSLSDSL LLU is where the last mile of copper is unbundled from the BT exchange. It is then changed over to a higher quality line that enables faster up stream data. These are indicated in the table below. However, these services are only available in selected exchanges. Please contact us for clarification. ADSL requires a normal analogue BT (or Telinet) telephone line to deliver the service Terms & ConditionsClick here for the Broadband Terms & Conditions
